When you support a small business...
...you support a dream
...an actual person does a little happy dance
...you motivate creativity
...you show you care
...you help them grow
...you share the love
That's why I've compiled 5 easy (and mostly free) ways to support small businesses like mine:
-
Like, Comment on and Share their posts on social media (Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp...)
Most small businesses often start promoting themselves on social media because its free. It's a great way to get their brand noticed, share products with you and for keeping you up to date with their latest news and behind the scenes action but they need your support. By simply engaging with their posts and stories you'll be supporting them by getting their business in front of more people and also show that you like their content too.
(and if you have any feedback send them a direct message)
-
Write them a positive review (or a review about a product you've bought)
Reviews help other potential customers to know about the experience of buying with the small business, which can seem an unknown entity, but reassure them about the process, the design or quality of the products and more. It takes just minutes to leave a review, but can leave a lasting impact on a small business.
-
Recommend them to friends & family or your networks (community groups, gyms, workplaces...)
One of the best ways to show your support is through word of mouth recommendation. Talking about a small business and recommending them to friends and family will help them get new customers and hopefully get more people to spread the word. If the business has a website share the link too so it makes it easier for others to browse what's on offer.
- Share a picture/video of you wearing/using their products on your own social media, tagging the brand.
Not only are you helping to spread the word of the brand, but showing that you use the items you've bought and inspire others on how they can wear them too. -
Buy from them!
The other ways mentioned already are completely free to do - they don't cost you a penny to show your support for a small business. But of course, nothing will support them more than buying from them. So whether you might be in need of a gift for someone else, a treat for you, a reason to celebrate, or buy 'just because', think about whether you can support a small. business in the process.
